Christopher Middlebrook - Chris Middlebrook graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School and became a member of the Minnesota State Bar in 1983. His undergraduate degree was in Russian Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1979. Prior to beginning his career as a lawyer Chris was a professional athlete in Sweden for two years where he became fluent in Swedish. He also worked as Marketing Manager for Rollerblade Inc. for whom he authored a book on dryland training for ice hockey.
Since 1988 Chris has practiced law, only representing injured employees in workers compensation claims and persons injured in auto accidents, slip and falls and dog bites. He has received significant recognition and numerous awards for his work, including being named a Minnesota Super Lawyer every year since 1999, as well as being named to the "Best Lawyers in Minnesota" and "Best Lawyers in America". In 2015 Chris was named by Minnesota Monthly as Minnesota's "Workers Compensation Lawyer of the Year" and Middlebrook Law was named by US News and World Report as one of the 100 top law firms in Minnesota. He has been a speaker at workers compensation and personal injury seminars and has been a main presenter of numerous "Elimination of Bias" seminars. The vast majority of Chris' clients come to him via referral or word of mouth, including referrals not only from past and present clients, but also other attorneys, claims adjusters, doctors and Judges.
In addition to his law practice Chris played on and was Captain of the U.S. National Bandy Team for 21 years and then became Head Coach for 11 years. He has played or coached in 17 World Championships. Chris is currently President of the American Bandy Association. In 2014 Chris was named to the "USA Bandy Hall of Fame" (link to USA Bandy website).
Chris and his wife, Cathryn, who is also an attorney, have been married since 1984. They have two children, Ian and Delaney. Chris coached both of his children in ice hockey and Bandy while they were growing up and organized many hockey and Bandy team trips to Europe and Russia.
Julie Waltz - Julie is our paralegal/office manager. She has been with the firm since 1993. She is a graduate of Normandale Community College with a background in court reporting and legal studies. She is a native of Minnesota. Her and her husband, Darrell, have four grown children. The family enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with others.
Heidi Lundebrek - Heidi is a native of Lowry Minnesota. She graduated from Alexandria Technical College with a background in legal studies and office management. She has been with the firm since 2002. She and her family, Keith and daughter Abigail, enjoy spending time with other members of their families, friends, shopping and outdoor activities.
Rafaela Marchesan - Rafaela is a native of Brazil and is fluent in Spanish and Portugese. Rafaela has been with the firm since 2004. She has a Masters Degree in psychology from St. Mary's University. In her free time she volunteers as a mental health professional.
